Made one career appearance in the Majors - on September 17, 1921 against the Cleveland Indians, throwing 5IP, allowing five hits, three earned runs (all in the 7th inning), with two strikeouts, one walk, and one HBP. Future Hall of Famer Joe Sewell hit a triple off of Bird. Struck out in his only plate appearance as a batter.
