Strick Shofner played just five games for the Red Sox in the 1947 season, starting his career 0x9 with three strikeouts. In his final career Major League game, at Detroit on April 29, 1947 Strick - hitting in front of Dom DiMaggio and Ted Williams - went 2x4, leading off the 4th with a triple and a run scored in an 8-3 loss to the Tigers.
