1926 Chicago White Sox.

Former University of Texas pitcher Les Cox pitched in two games for the Chicago White Sox. In his MLB debut on September 11, 1926 Cox threw 4IP, allowing three hits and four walks. Five runs - all unearned - scored. He retired 12 of the first 14 batters he faced before an error by 2B unraveled his line. Recorded a hit in his first career plate appearance, but was picked off of second base. 

Ten days later Cox faced the New York Yankees. Already down 9-0 by the time Cox entered the game, Cox allowed three hits and one walk, five runs (only three were earned). Cox retired future Hall of Famer Earle Combs to open the 9th, Bob Meusel reached on an error before Babe Ruth hit his 44th home run of the season. Cox walked Lou Gehrig before allowing a home run to future Hall of Famer Tony Lazzeri. Mark Koenig scored on yet another infield error before Cox got Hank Severeid to ground into a double play. 

Cox died at Age 30 in 1934 from complications following an appendectomy.
